3.8 „parties“ means the university and the NTEU, as well as any other union in which that union has acted as negotiator with respect to this agreement and informs the Fair Work Commission of its intention to be bound under the Fair Work Act 2009, unless the context does not imply otherwise. At the time of the vote, management`s message was that the proposed company agreement „offers many requirements that exceed industry standards and, in some cases, are among the best in the industry.“ While the union argued that the proposed salary increase, four annual salary increases from 1.4 percent this year to 2 percent in 2021, the big issues seem to have been the appeasement of employees over the reorganization of leadership research, changes in conditions for some teachers and a reduction in discipline and quarrels processes and the reclassification of positions. The CTMC will try in good faith to resolve the dispute by trying to reach an agreement. If the dispute is not resolved by the CTMC within 5 business days, the dispute may be referred by either party to an arbitrator to settle. 17.2 „seasonal staff“ means professional staff appointed as such on a permanent or temporary basis to work one or more periods or seasons per year, which may be a calendar year such as that proposed by the university in accordance with clause 16 or subsequently amended in agreement with the seasonal employee. 77.1 Notwithstanding other provisions of this Agreement, the University may, between Monday and Friday and in agreement with the staff concerned, enter into an agreement for extended positions of up to nine hours and thirty minutes (without meal breaks) which would not result in shiftwork. Such a willing employee would not have to work more than 80% of normal workdays (Monday to Friday). No formal offer or approval of such an agreement may be made to a staff member until a period of at least 21 days has been sent to NTEU Monash University and an agreement has been reached between the NTEU Monash University Branch and the University. . . .
